1st week check in, Blogilates Calendar.

When you work out, do you ever notice how your eating habits seem to change? I swear, the mornings I get a workout in, I really think twice about what I'm putting into my mouth. Was it really worth straining that hour, to throw it away over a bad meal? Probably not. After this morning's work out (and my 4th of July cheating turned into an extended weekend haha), I decided to have a raw meal with peppermint tea. (Pineapple & Peppermint are wonderful aids in digestion<3)

(Carb filled goodies I enjoyed over the weekend.... Not Shown: Denny's, Hot Dogs, Kit Kats, Reese's haha)

I completed week one of Cassey Ho's beginner's workout plan. I love her workouts in general... but in a workout video, I personally prefer less talking so I can focus on my technique. Pilates is very structured, and its very important that you keep good form (so you don't hurt yourself). I sort of felt her talking was a bit of a distraction.

Also, when I'm working out (especially beginners), I *need* to know how many reps I'm doing. She doesn't really plan it out... It just seems knowing the number (counting down or forward) lets me know in my head "okay only 5 more times, you can do this", so I end up stopping the reps because I tire out (and didn't realize she only had 3 more left.). She mentioned herself that she didn't have numbers in mind, & she just did her reps until she got tired... That is pretty frustrating.

Aside from the talking and reps issue, I do feel like a got a good workout! This morning I decided to keep the volume low so I didn't hear the chit chat, and made up reps in my head alone. If I didn't do as many as she did it was okay, or I ended up doing a few more. I don't know if her newer videos have changed at all, but it would be interesting to hear if anyone else had any issues with this? Maybe I'm just so out of shape, I just tire more than a normal beginner? I'm determined to see this through, along with doing the Paleo diet. (I did low carb/keto for 40+ days and didn't see much of a difference. Hopefully this will boost metabolism :-) )

What do you do to keep in shape?

July Fitness Challenge: Blogilates

I've been doing low carb for about 40+ days now, and I haven't quite seen the results that I had the last time I did it. So, I decided to incorporate Pop Pilates into my routine, to see if I'll make better progress. (realistically, I'd love to lose about 10lbs, but if I could just get fit I'd be happy.).

Casey Ho of www.blogilates.com, is a wonderful "pop" Pilates You Tuber. She has free meal plans and cooridinating monthly workout calendars to help you get into shape. I started one long ago, but never seemed to be able to keep up with it. This time, I figured I've been really good about sticking to my diet, I think I should be able to keep up with it! (Hopefully...)

Starting (tomorrow) July 1st, I'm going to begin her Beginners Calendar Here. If this is something that is of interest to you, she also has her monthly free monthly fitness calendar available on her site now.

What are your favorite ways to stay fit?

January Challenge of the month!

http://www.blogilates.com/blog/2013/06/03/beginners-calendar-for-popsters-just-starting-out/

Okay, so my challenge this month is going to be "POP Pilates for beginners" By Cassey over at her "Blogilates" website. Click on the above image, and she has the instructions for the printable calendar, & the corresponding You Tube video on her You Tube channel as well. Her site has all kinds of health recipes, and she even has a food regiment you can follow for 90 days to help lose weight. I think I'll just stick to her beginner's calendar this month, and see where it goes from there!

Are you ready for this month's challenge?

Bring on 2014!! :-)

December Challenge of the Month!

Anyone ready to get a head start on all of those New Year's resolutions? I found two workouts on pinterest that I found interesting!

My problem areas are definitely my tummy and bum. This seems fairly simple (yet difficult!) to follow. After everything I ate for Thanksgiving, I really need to get my legs moving! I know a woman (friend of a friend) who sells organic whole food vitamins that's hopefully going to help my kids and I health in order. I also borrowed a nutribullet and a vintage "Joy of beauty" book (info on fasting, juicing, etc.) from my parents, so we'll see how all of that works out. I'm ready to say good bye to this year, and start next year with a bang. I'll be blogging about all of this later!

Do you guys have any workout routines you've started?

November Challenge!

Who is ready to get their body fit? (I'm not willing to watch another Victoria's Secret Runway show while eating a McChicken.... I wish I were joking, lol) I am SET on trying to get my body toned! She has recipes, workout calendars, and food plans, its pretty neat. I tried to do her workout challenge in September, so I'm going to attempt it again, so here we go!

So for this month's challenge, I'm going to start her #Novemburn calendar. Its free to sign up! You just sign up for her newsletter, and she gives you a code to be able to view and follow along her workout plan.
