Bourbon Beauty: The Barre Code Middletown, New Kids Room!

Not too long ago, I started again on my fitness journey (as a mom, its a personal struggle finding the balance between work, events, finances, maintaining my home, boys' school, Dr. appointments, Date nights, my list goes on!), and I began to wonder the age old question, "Can women truly have it all?". In my opinion, I think the answer is yes, just not all at the same time.

Finding the balance can be difficult, but, not impossible. Once you start incorporating "normal" life after adjusting to kids, finding the balance is much easier when you find a community that is child friendly. This is where The Barre Code comes in!

Finding gyms in Louisville that has childcare has been hard. There were several that I thought would be great to join, but not having a place to drop off my kiddos for me was a huge deterrent. (If I have to schedule childcare ($$ + gas + time to drop off and pick up kids.... = hassle.), it just wasn't worth the effort to join. *shrug*

It was brought to my attention that The Barre Code in Middletown now has a Kids Room! New studio owner, Heather Thomas, sat down with me to talk about her *new* endeavor, and the new addition to her studio. When asked what inspired her to become the new studio owner of The Barre Code, she said:
I have been an instructor at The Barre Code for three years now, and I was also the Studio Manager/Master Trainer for two of those years. In September 2018, I became the Studio Owner as a next step to keep The Barre Code community thriving in Louisville. It is truly a dream come true to be the studio owner. I couldn’t imagine my life without The Barre Code, and I know our members feel the same. The members and staff inspire me every day! They are what make The Barre Code what it is today.
I asked her what advice she would give to new moms who may find group fitness intimidating? (I've been there!)
At The Barre Code, our mission is to empower women and encourage them to find their best self. Our workouts will help you find YOUR strong, and you will have the support you need to get there. Now that I am a Mom, “Me” time is more important than ever. Motherhood is amazing, but also so challenging. Moms are always multi-tasking, and doing so much for others. Making time for yourself will make you a better person for others in the end.
I also asked if there was anything she thought new moms should know before joining The Barre Code?
Be patient with yourself and listen to your body during class just as you did throughout your pregnancy. Instructors give modifications and advancements so that you can tailor the workout to fit your needs. Week by week you will notice a difference in your strength, but patience and consistency is key.

I was so excited to hear more about her new kids' room:
Kids room is a child watch service. We take care of your kids while you get your 50-minute workout in. We keep a 5:1 child-staff ratio, and it is available M/W/F and Sat mornings. We hope to add more days and times as demand increases. You can reserve your spot on Mindbody just as you do a regular class. Cost is $5 for a drop in or $40 for a 10-Pack.

Over the past few years, I have seen a number of our members have to cancel their memberships after having kids. I want The Barre Code to be a part of a Mom’s journey pre and postnatal. Having this option, we can hopefully keep them part of our community in the future, and bring more Moms into our environment.

I personally love the new changes to The Barre Code, and can't wait for the kids and I to see what its like!

What do you do for me time? How do you balance your life?

Bourbon Beauty: Red Carpet Ready for the Derby Eve Gala

Derby is 18 days away. 18 DAYS AWAY... I'm both excited, and just a tiny bit nervous... Excited for the fun, but nervous because I want to make sure everything looks perfect! I'm especially excited for the Derby Eve Gala coming up.

With only 3 weeks left, I thought it would be fun to share my count down of things to do leading up to a Red Carpet event!

3 weeks before derby:

#1: Outfit.
I feel it's super important to have my dress and accessories put together, ready to go. I like to have this prepared, so that I know what kind of makeup and what nail look I'll be going for. Waiting until the last minute for a dress is such a pain! I'd suggest having it ready at LEAST 3 weeks in advance.

  • Dress (dry cleaned) and ready to go. (If you don't have one picked out, check out my post using a Macy's My stylist!)
  • Heels (cleaned)/ foot protectors/extra pair of foldable flats (LIFE savers after a long night of dancing)
  • Undergarments (Spanx, strapless bra?, Lingerie)
  • Jewelry (chosen, steam cleaned and buffed)
  • Coordinating Accessories.

#2 Body.

3 weeks in advance, I really like to go to town getting my skin prepped. I amp up my water intake/ green tea to help with bloat, and I start exfoliating. Sloughing off dead skin now, will allow for beautiful glowing skin during a big event. There are several ways to do this, but my favorite way is to just purchase a simple sugar scrub (I really enjoy Trader Joes Ginger Grapefruit), and scrub in the shower at least 3x a week. I remove all nail polish, trim my nails, pumice my heels, and MOISTURIZE (My go to at the moment, is Lush Charity Pot)!! (Especially if you plan on sunless tanning. No one wants streaking tans before a big event.)

#3 Face.

During this time, I also exfoliate my face 3x a week, (I love Lush fresh face products for this!) I also do Korean sheets masks after exfoliating (Tony Moly has a great snail mask I adore), and sleep in my favorite sleep pack as well as my lip mask. (Currently I'm LOVING Laniege Lip Mask, and Tony Moly banana balm).

#4 Makeup.

This is the time I purchase any makeup I plan on using for the event, so it gives me ample time to play with it to perfect my look! If I plan on tanning, I get my foundation a bit darker than what I normally use.

My Personal Glam list:
  • Sheet Mask (LOVE using one prior to putting on my makeup. Your face glows!)
  • Moisturizer (Makeup application looks so much better on hydrated skin. (Lush Celestial & Tatcha Water lotion is amazing for dry skin.)
  • Primer (I love NYX Honey Dew Primer)
  • Face Mist (I learned this trick from on of my favorite K Beauty Authors. Mist your face before foundation application, application looks better with hydrated skin).
  • Foundation ( I use Too Faced Born This Way)
  • Concealer (Tarte Shape Tape)
  • Eyebrow Pencil/powder (Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz)
  • Mascara (NYX)
  • Eye Liner
  • Eye Shadows (Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam)
  • Lip Liner
  • Lip Stick/Gloss
  • Blush
  • Contour Powder (Hoola By Benefit)
  • Highlighter Powder (Carli Bybel)
  • Setting Spray (Tatcha)
Once I have my makeup look and products picked out, I like to play with the application before hand so I know exactly what look I'm going for.

#4. Hair.

While I wouldn't suggest changing my look this close to a major event (Kudos to the brave souls that do haha!), Its a good time to get a trim if need be (my hair won't feel so blunt 3 weeks away). I also like to start deep conditioning treatments! I do this about 1x a week. I slather a deep conditioner on my ends of my hair, pull it up, and rinse out after 30 minutes. Rinsing with cold water helps to add shine!

#4. Confirm Appointments!

If I chose to go with a hair stylist, I'd book my hair stylist appointment, as well as manicure appointment, waxing appointment, tanning appointment, etc. Personally, this time around, I'll be doing my own hair and makeup, as well as tanning. I did, however, make my appointment to cut my split ends, and get my nails done. This would also be a great time to purchase any teeth whitening products (I think I'll start next week) or making your appointment to get that done if need be!

What do you do to prepare for an event?

There's still time to purchase tickets for the Derby Eve Gala! Let's have fun, and party with a purpose!

Bourbon Beauty: Kentucky Derby Festival Ready! My Stylist @ Macy's

The Kentucky Derby is right around the corner (seems like time just flies, doesn't it?!?). The Kentucky Derby Festival has tons of events preceding it, and the Macy's Spring Fashion show is just one of many! (for more information on upcoming events, click here) Macy's reached out and kindly invited me not only to their Kentucky Derby Festival Spring Fashion Show, but to try out their My Stylist @ Macy's. I was excited!

(Macy's Oxmoor Mall | Louisville, Ky.)

My Stylist @ Macy's is a free personal shopping service. They help you find the perfect outfit (Men & Women), home furnishings, and gift items you're looking for. It was so fun and easy to do! I didn't know this existed, but I will definitely use them again in the future (The ease and time saving!). I think this would be perfect for Derby, or maybe even a future wedding or special event?

(If you're going to Oxmoor Mall (Louisville, Ky), its located on the first floor, towards the back.).

It's so easy to book a session with My Stylist, you can do it online @ macy's.com/mystylist, by phone 800-343-0121, or in person by walking into the store office. (Since they reached out to me, I just gave them my dress size, and they pulled clothing out for all of the bloggers that were participating in the event.) You just mention what you're in need of, and voila! Help is just a quick click/call/chat away.

Terri, Brittany, and the whole team were so friendly! (Some of them traveled from Chicago, it was funny to talk to other people from my hometown. Small world.) I loved their clothing suggestions, it was super easy and quick to decide on the dress I wanted. (Thank you so much for the help and suggestions.)

(Their Spring 2018 line is GORGEOUS!) I loved everything, especially the pink.

(Amazing selection on accessories, from fascinators to earrings.)

I love love LOVE the beautiful color of this dress I selected (thank you Macy's!), I think I'm going to pair it with the nude guess heels pictured above on my wardrobe rack. ( I prefer nude colored shoes since it elongates the legs.)

As a personal preference, I prefer jewelry pieces that are dainty (and classic) with a structured dress. I feel dainty pieces compliment it, without being overwhelming. I loved this pretty Rose Gold Cuff I chose (they gifted me) by INC.

These earrings also caught my eye! Since the dress isn't low cut, I probably wouldn't wear a necklace... *but* (for the sake of my mom judging me for not using one haha, she always insists on necklaces) if I had to choose one, I'd probably pair it with a beautiful pearl necklace, or a thin short chained silver one.

If you're looking for help getting styled for an event, purchase a gift, or ideas for your home, I highly recommend getting in touch with your local My Stylist @ Macy's. It takes the guess work out of what to buy, there's no pressure to purchase, and its completely free. Derby season means lots of outfits for parties, hostess gifts, and finding the perfect housewares for entertaining. This is a service I would definitely take advantage of.

Thank you Macy's for the opportunity to see your new spring line, and my new outfit. I can't wait to use it for an upcoming event. Your whole team was so friendly! I'm excited to use the dress for opening night at Churchill Downs.

For more information on My Stylist @ Macy's, their button will remain on my side bar until Derby :-) I've also created a Macy's Derby "Story" on my Instagram account, that shows clips of their spring line if you're interested!

What are you most excited for this Derby Season?

Bourbon Beauty: Do you know Louisville's Most Eligible Bachelor? Celebrating National MS Week!

Last year I was invited to a fun event for the National MS Society. A night full of fun, drinks, food, and guys strutting their stuff for a charitable cause!

Summer is right around the corner, and they are preparing for their next event. The Kentucky/Southeast Indiana Chapter of the National MS Society is searching for Louisville's Most Eligible Bachelor! The top 10 Nominees are invited to strut their stuff on the runway for Mister's for MS. The second annual event will be held July 26 at The Gramercy.

National MS week is March 12, and this is when the official contest launches!

The nomination process: After a gentleman is nominated, they are asked to fund-raise for the MS Society. Those who raise most money will be named the 10 Most Eligible Bachelors and will be invited to walk the runway at Misters for MS.

Interested in nominating a bachelor? Send his name, email, and phone to Misters for MS Chairperson Jessica Tretter- jessica.tretter@LPL.com or 502-387-7123.

So, the Bachelors themselves are *not* auctioned off. They will be presenting the 10 live auction items.

For example, "Here's Bachelor #3, Bob. You'll see that Bob is holding a beautiful necklace from XX jewelers." The necklace is up for bid (NOT bob!). However, Bob is invited to strut his stuff, have fun, and collect as many names and numbers as he wants! (Fun!)

If you know someone special, I encourage you to to nominate a bachelor, and help this amazing cause!

What are your favorite Charity events?

Bourbon Beauty: Solstice Dental & Aesthetics: A more natural approach to dentistry.

As you may have already read in my previous post, I visited a new Dentist location. Aside from being blown away by her procedures pertaining to special needs patients (blown away doesn't even begin to describe it), I was also intrigued by some other awesome (and innovative) details in her office. When I say awesome, I truly mean I was in awe.

My personal awareness of radiation exposure, metals & chemicals that are considered unhealthy etc., came along with the diagnosis of my son's Autism, as well as my grandmother's diagnosis of cancer. In my experience, dealing with these illnesses opened the flood doors to questions: Why did this happen? How do we heal? While I may never know the answers to these in particular, one thing remained the same: Prevention.

If we know exposure to certain chemicals and radiation could harm us, what could we do to avoid it, or lessen the affects if at all possible? These are questions I have had for Dr.'s in the past. Unfortunately, my concerns were never validated, and I was treated as if I were "over reacting" for asking if the radiation from too many ultrasounds could hurt my unborn child. (FYI new moms, if a Dr. scoffs at you because they think your question is insignificant... don't walk, RUN. If you can't trust them to have a real, open conversation about procedures (and their effects), they don't deserve to be trusted during your most vulnerable moments, you deserve a Dr. who can be honest and open. I promise you they exist!).

This is where Dr. Manning comes in. When I listened to Dr. Manning explain the equipment (and decor) she personally hand selected for her office.. again, amazed. THE DETAILS and THOUGHT that went into everything! Her personal touch is everywhere, and the extent she went to be environmentally friendly, even makes me question my own personal footprint!

First, let's discuss the radiation. X-rays are vital to our health, dental health is especially reliant on x-rays...

At Solstice, Dr. Manning selected a device called the Nomad.

When you go to the dentist, you usually have to stand up, clamp your teeth on an uncomfortable machine, and wait for the pictures to be taken. Have you ever tried doing that with a little child? Not fun! Here at Solstice, they use The Nomad (a hand held digital x-ray, lower radiation device), as you sit comfortably as they take your x-rays. Not only is it convenient for little ones &/or patients with special needs, you also have LESS radiation exposure. Genius. Alongside this amazing device, they also use *Lead Free* Patient Aprons. Lead. Free.

According to Dr. Manning:

These lead free aprons, are as effective as lead aprons for protecting patients from x-ray scatter, but without the environmental impact of lead manufacturing or risk of lead exposure to the patient. They're also lighter and more comfortable than traditional lead aprons.

When you walk in, the first thing you notice are the *gorgeous* counter tops (specifically selected because they are) made of beautiful recycled glass. This elegant space is also decorated with live plants, which she selected for their air purification qualities. When I asked about the construction of her office, I loved how much effort and thought she put into caring for the environment:

During construction, we used Low-VOC paints and adhesives limiting the use of unnecessary disposables. We installed LEED-certified dental cabinetry, along with LED lighting.

I find that very admirable, that she cares about the environment. So much so, that she has a special system in place for disposing metals from her office.

We use BPA, Metal, & Mercury-Free fillings and restorations. Even though we don't place mercury fillings in our office, there are cases where we will need to remove them from a patient's mouth. In these instances, it is my belief that they should be disposed of responsibly. We have a piece of equipment called an amalgam separator, which collects the mercury-containing materials, so they are not able to return to the water supply. For a practice as small as ours that does not place mercury fillings, this piece of equipment is not required by law. However, we feel it's important to consider the environmental impact of any amount of mercury finding its way into our water supply and to prevent that from happening.

Along with their procedures for collecting mercury-containing materials, they also use a special water-less vacuum to remove water from their patients mouths.

Our office has a waterless vacuum system called a Mojave DryVac. Traditional vacuum systems require a large flow of water to create the suction needed to perform dentistry. In fact, the average dental office uses 200,000 gallons of water per year to generate the suction required. That is the equivalent of filling one Olympic-sized swimming pool each month just to remove spit and water from patients' mouths. The waterless system in our office uses no water or oil and has a variable motor that adjusts depending upon suction usage to save energy as well.

She even goes as far as to use digital impressions, radio-graphs and paperless charting in order to decrease waste.

When I say Dr. Manning is raising the bar for practices in Louisville, I should have said she's raising the bar for all of us. Excuse me while I go collect plastic bottles to recycle.

Bourbon Beauty: SkynLounge Part 2 : ZenSkyn Makeup Line

Last week, I wrote about my *amazing* experience at SkynLounge. While I was there, I was introduced to their ZenSkyn Makeup line. I figured it was best to write my experience in a separate post so it wasn't so overwhelming!

I was invited by Skyn Lounge, to come and try out a few of their spa services (here in my previous post). After I was done with my facial and LED light therapy, I was treated to a complimentary makeup application (From what I understood, complimentary makeup applications are offered with all facials). I thought it was great that they offer makeup applications. I personally hate going out without makeup, and that's a huge perk for me. How convenient that I can walk in for a facial, get made up, and walk out to my next meeting. Perfect for someone on the go, and pressed for time!

Since I have very sensitive skin, I tend to be more aware of the ingredients in my makeup. Unfortunately for me, some products can be very irritating on my skin. While this is isn't a full review, I was impressed with the line, and thought it may be of interest to those looking for healthier makeup options.

I was sat down by Katie, who was more than happy to walk me through what products they have available. (I loved how informed she was about every product.)

She asked me what I normally applied, and proceeded to place primer, foundation, eyebrow powder, highlighter/bronzer, eyeliner, and a lip gloss.

I tend to have dry/dehydrated skin, so I usually opt for liquid foundations. "Dewy" products always sit better on my skin, and the Tinted Primer I used that day was fantastic! 3 different people complimented me on my skin.

Per their website:

"Zen SKYN® Color Collection Tinted Primer SPF 20 is a light primer that evens tone and warms your complexion with a subtle radiance while minimizing the appearance of pores and protecting your skin against both UVA and UVB rays. Ideal for daily use and post-clinical care skin treatment."

| ZenSkyn Tinted Primer $38 |

Another product that I felt really gave me a glow, was their bronzer duo:

| Mineral Blush Contour $37 |

The product was long lasting, and looked great on my skin! Per their website:

"Zen SKYN®  Mineral Blush/Contour Duo is the perfect duo for a luxurious, satin finish contour. Highlight your cheekbones with a beautiful rose-toned blush, and finish with the contouring power of the bronze power along the jaw line, nose, forehead, and cheeks."

| ZenSkyn Luxury Gloss $24 |

Last, but not least, I really liked the gloss they used. It had a really pretty color & sheen, and it didn't feel sticky like some glosses tend to do.

Per their website:

"ZenSKYN® Luxury Gloss uses a unique blend of oils to help condition and hydrate the lips to prevent lines and wrinkles from appearing.  This lightweight formula provides shine and long lasting hydration while also remaining hypoallergenic and paraben-free.  Our revolutionary gloss incorporates aloe, silica, Argan oil, Castor Seed oil, and Soybean oil for ultimate health and hydration."

I loved all of the products they used! I am a huge supporter of buying local, and I think these would make great gifts for the holidays. Right now they currently have a summer promotion of 50% off select products, using code SUMMER50 (per their site).

For more information about ZenSkyn Products, check out their website!

Thank you to SkynLounge for inviting me to try out your products.

Bourbon Beauty: Skyn Lounge: Louisville's Premiere Boutique Spa Pt. 1

Having my kids home for summer vacation, is always bitter sweet. I adore waking up with them in the mornings, lounging around at the park, watching them giggle with content as they run around care free... but the responsibility of keeping kids fed, clean, and ENTERTAINED 24/7 (with no respite) can take a toll on anyone! I feel like everyone deserves some time to themselves. When I was asked to review a spa, I was overjoyed to say the least. My babies would be heading back to school, and I would finally be able to get a little me time.

It's been at least a year since I've had a massage, so the idea of getting a bit of pampering sounded like heaven on earth! Stepping into Skyn Lounge felt *exactly* like that.

Walking in, the first thing you notice is the elegance of the space. Very serene decor, tranquil colors, it felt very inviting. (I've been to horribly busy spas, overtired employees trying to rush you out for their next client. This was not the case here! It was very peaceful, and the women were very attentive.)

I was offered water while I waited to be seen for my appointment.  I filled out a thorough questionnaire, (I suggest coming in at least 10 minutes early, so you have enough time to be thoughtful with your requests/ medical history.) and was promptly seen soon after.

The room I was taken into, had dim lighting, and soft serene music playing in the background. I was told to undress to my comfort level, and was handed a soft wrap. Climbing onto the massage table, and melting into the heated covers felt amazing.

Katie was very attentive, and walked me through every procedure I had done. She gave me an amazing massage (I personally enjoy someone with a heavy hand, and appreciated that she made sure the pressure was okay.). She cleansed my make up, exfoliated my face, did extractions, and explained everything she was doing very thoroughly.

Towards the end of my facial, she did an LED light therapy (I was excited to try this, especially since I know this is very popular with celebrities!). I've seen this procedure splashed across social media, and I had been very curious to try it out.

Per their website:

"LED red or blue light therapy delivers light energy in a similar way that plant absorbs light energy from the sun. LightStim emits UV-free, beneficial light rays that energize cells and stimulate skin's protein building and cell regeneration."

When I was done with my facial (I had complimentary make up done, coming up on my next post), I was happy to know they did makeup. (I always joke that I carry my face in my cosmetic bag, and its so true! I hate leaving my home without makeup. I loved that they offered that, so I wouldn't feel so naked running around doing my errands.).

My dry skin desperately needed some attention, and I couldn't be more happy with the results! Skyn Lounge gave me an amazing experience, and I can't wait to go back. If you're looking for a little pampering, (or maybe a gift for the Christmas season!), I HIGHLY recommend Skyn Lounge. I've already told my mom about the place, and I foresee a girl's night happening *very* soon.

Thank you Skyn Lounge for having me!

For more information on Skyn Lounge, check out their website! You can find a list of all of their facials and procedures (including waxes). (ask for Katie!)

Crane House Night Market: Louisville

I love Ethnic food. I love Mexican Food, I love Asian Food, I love Indian Food... I have yet to meet a cuisine I didn't like.

Whenever I visit home (Chicago), the ONE place I always visit is China Town. I wrote a little bit about it here from my last visit. The shopping, the FOOD, the culture, I miss Chicago so incredibly much. Aside from missing my family, the hardest part of leaving Chicago was my beloved food (I know... re-reading that sounds ridiculous, but its the truth!)

http://www.bourbonbeauty.com/2014/06/the-makeup-show-chicago-june-7-8-2014.html

I really wish there were places like China Town available in Louisville, so when I heard that Louisville was going to have its own night market, I was ecstatic to say the least. Night markets are very popular in Asia (I've seen lots of them featured on Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern), and I've also heard that they are quite popular in China Town California (bucket list!). I've visited day markets in Mexico when I was a teen, but to experience a night market was completely new to me.

I wish there were more outdoor Ethnic Markets/Bazarrs (aside from the occasional special event in Louisville), but I suppose maybe more will start blossoming in the future as our city grows. (Have you guys been to the World Fest? Its amazing how much its grown since we first moved here!)

When I decided to purchase tickets to the Night Market, unfortunately the tickets were sold out. I contacted the Crane House, they were so kind, and quickly notified me as soon as they placed more tickets for sale online. (That's a huge plus about living in Louisville, most places you call go above and beyond to help you find info. If I asked a Chicago venue for sold out tickets/extra info, I probably would have heard a dial tone...)

The event was located at the Crane House in Old Louisville. I've been to Old Louisville for their Spring fest, but this was my first time visiting Crane House. Its such a beautiful part of town, if you've never been, I highly recommend checking it out.

I purchased the All You Can Eat Ramen tickets (of course), and it didn't disappoint. The line was super long, it wrapped around the event lot. (They had another line for what I believe was Vietnamese BBQ, but I was already stuffed from the Ramen.) You stopped at different stations along the line; first station noodles. second station you choose your broth, 3rd station you choose your meat and so forth.

Now, being completely honest, although I've read and have seen a lot about Ramen, I've never tried it fresh, or authentic. I've made different versions of dried instant Ramen from several Asian Marts in Louisville, (I've also prepared the noodles with raw egg, furikaki, and other authentic ingredients) but I've never had the opportunity to try it out.

Since I do not know how authentic fresh Ramen is supposed to taste, I can't vouch for its authenticity. But as far as taste goes? It was amazing! The noodles were *nothing* like the dried versions I've had, and the fresh ingredients offered several different textures and flavors that harmonized so incredibly well. It had an umami taste from the broth, and the fresh veggies and pickled daikon paired beautifully well. I was craving it so much, the next day I went out to try to find the noodles. Turns out most recipes are highly guarded, its very hard to find true recipes online to make at home.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much seating available, so we were stuck eating on a cement wall before chairs opened up for us. When we finally sat down, I *ran* over to the Boba Tea line that was almost completely sold out. I was served the last cup of Boba, and it was so watered down. I have no idea how it may have tasted when it was fresh, but this tasted like watered down milk tea. I think since it was their first event, they really had to guesstimate how much food and drink to have on hand, which I completely understand. I hope they bring back the event, and hopefully the vendors have an idea on how much stock to have on hand. (I'm not sure how long the All You Can Eat food lasted, Next year I will be first in line lol!)

I saw a sushi stand, so of course I had to try it out. I was a little skeptical at first (The rice *looked* like it was long grain, and the spicy sauce he used to make the spicy tuna came out of a commercial squeeze tube...) but it ended up being so tasty!! I loved the flavor, no complaints. It tasted way better than it photographed.

My husband purchased the kids a frozen treat after their Ramen, I'm not sure what it was... but I heard no complaints from the kids. Mango flavored maybe??

The Yelp Louisville Booth was there, and I won a chapstick for checking in! I was going to take a picture of them, but I didn't want to be a creep and ask! (They always seem to be at the cool events!)

All in all it was a great time! I purchased some jewelry from a booth that helps refugees. I'll def write up a post soon about their charity.

Did you go to the Night Market? Congratulations on the great event Crane House! I can't wait to see this event come back, and I'll be on the look out for more of them :-)
