Bourbon Beauty: Getting Ready for Derby with Emma Justine Salon!

Happy April, and welcome to the OFFICIAL 1 month count down to DERBY!! Last week Emma Justine Salon had an adorable Derby Party filled with amazing local vendors. Unfortunately, I could only peek in to get a few shots, but I didn't want to miss out on sharing this. (Emma Justine is my *favorite* salon in Louisville. She's done amazing work on my hair, and her esthetician did an amazing job on my last facial. Since I have sensitive skin, and prefer organic products, Emma Justine Salon is a savior for all things beauty.).

I don't know what I love more, the salon, or the food they offer during their events lol (Kidding! but their caterer is amazing! I was in love with their opening event.).

When you walk into her salon, the first thing I always see are the moving art pieces she has hanging up. Art by AIZIK was a featured vendor at their event! Love the art!

BB Macarons looked delicious!! So many different flavors to choose from. If you're having a derby party, this would be adorable as little treats.

LOUVINO from Middletown was there with appetizers, their food looked delicious. I really need to try them out, I've heard great things (especially about their charcuterie, and their lobster and crab cakes!).

Everyone knows Derby is about fashion, and while the main focus may be looking for the hats, I'm always checking out the bow ties! I love how guys (or gals) can show off a super fun look through a bow tie. These colorful ones are available from Peak Ties

Parkside Family Dental was also showcasing some of their available treatments! More info here.

Prickly Pear Boutique also showcased some of their goodies from their boutique! The Derby tumblers were cute, and the bright colors for spring are completely on trend!

While trying to find goodies for your parties and Derby celebrations, please consider supporting local :-)

Thank you Emma Justine Salon for your invitation! I hope you guys will follow me along as I prepare for fun Derby events this following month!

For more information on these amazing businesses, as well as Emma Justine Salon, I've included their direct links above.

What are you most looking forward to for Derby?

Bourbon Beauty: Emma Justine Salon Holiday Gift Ideas!

It's no secret my *love* for Amie @ Emma Justine Salon. (I found her thanks to friend on Instagram, and I visited her before I was invited to try out her services at her new salon.). I've written about my hair gloss treatment here, her Grand Opening here, and she has an Instagram highlight on my stories on my page (if you're interested in seeing my mini video experiences at her salon/party!)

I've loved every service I've received (hence why I keep going back!). One of my favorite treatments was the facial I received from her spa esthetician. I loved the ambiance of the place (it was very soothing and relaxing, they played music and offered me water).

I undressed to my comfort level, and we had a small consult discussing my skin type. I have sensitive skin for the most part (I was diagnosed with A-topic Dermatitis and seasonal Eczema/psoriasis), and I try to use as many natural products as possible. (I enjoy trying new things, but I always tend to go back to products with minimal ingredients because they cause the least stress to my skin.).

I loved all of the products she used! My skin felt soft, supple, and I experienced no irritation from the products she used on my skin. The line Shira she carries was *amazing*. It smelled great! Its an organic all natural line, so if you have sensitive skin, this is the place to go to.

I loved the serum she used, which was the pomegranate scented. (Surprising, because its not a typical scent I like. It was very sweet and soothing.)

This was hands down my favorite product she used, the Mango mask was AMAZING. I need to go back and buy this. If I were to purchase anything, this would be the one I would do. My skin was left very soft and moisturized.

Aside from Spa services, I can't rave enough about my HAIR! She's been doing my haircuts for I think about a year now? I finally bit the bullet and she worked her magic foil Baylage (I think that's what its called?). I forgot the correct term, but I LOVED it. I didn't want anything that required a lot of maintenance, nor something that was super noticeable. This was perfect! I was so happy with her work.

Christmas time is the perfect time to treat yourself or someone you adore to a little pampering! She has giftcards available for all services and products. Also, products of the month are 25% off!

Bourbon Beauty: Emma Justine Salon - Grand Opening Party

If you follow me on Instagram (ABourbonBeauty) you probably saw my excitement for Emma Justine Salon's grand opening. It was amazing! Everything was done beautifully, and I would expect nothing less from her. (Her new salon is beautiful, but quite frankly, even if she worked out of a basement I would go just for her. She's like the hair whisperer...) The picture above was her invitation for local businesses. Gorgeous!

Everything was elegant and tasty! (I had to keep myself from doing a food review, it was *that* good.) I need to get her caterer information, it was an impressive spread.

I've written about my experience at her salon here, but here are some photos of her new place in case you haven't seen it!

(These were the goodies from her fab goody bags! Thank you!)

I had so much fun!

Bourbon Beauty: Beautiful New Salon - Emma Justine Hair Lounge & Spa

I believe it was last year, as I was browsing through Instagram (like many of us do) I saw a picture of someone's new haircut that I follow (MochiAndMimosa <~ I adore her feed!), and she mentioned she went to Amie Migirova for her haircuts.

I booked my appointment right away (she fills up very quickly, and you *know* someone who fills up quickly is a go to!), and I was SO impressed, I continued to book my haircuts through her. I have loved every.single.one.

Since we moved to Middletown, I've had a hard time finding (and trusting) a place with my hair. I hate that they either cut too much, or don't cut it correctly. With Amie, not only has she done a perfect job every time, she's the only person I'd trust to tell her to just do what she thinks will look right. When I left my appointment, not only did I feel pampered, I felt like an actual normal person (mommy hood does that! You get so involved in your kids' activities, you forget you need a little TLC once in a while. Well, Amie is my TLC!!).

I was notified that she opened her new salon, and I was really excited! Not only was I happy because she opened her own place (she's such a sweetheart, I love seeing good people succeeding!) but she moved literally 3 minutes from my house (>>>>Convenience!). I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in, but it was so gorgeous I couldn't help but snap some pictures. (I did not go in there with the intention of blogging this, but I know people need to know about this gem! This post is not sponsored in any way, I paid for my services this day.).

The aesthetic of this place is *beautiful*! I loved the decor and the feel of it, it felt like I was walking onto the set of some Hollywood Glam location. I adored the open feel of her Salon, and everything was visually appealing, very clean and modern.

The Vanities and the lighting she chose was gorgeous! I adored everything about her new place. It felt very luxurious, old Hollywood glam.

Amie is a huge supporter of local businesses, and she has these two huge beautiful paintings from a local artist. (I don't remember then name, but as soon as I find it, I'll put their info here. The paintings are gorgeous!)

So down to the nitty gritty, my hair! I always love the products she uses, I leave her salon with the smoothest hair ever. This last time, she told me she used Kevin Murphy products, and for my hair texture (wavy/thick), she used the smooth again line (it was a pale yellow bottle).

She also did a gloss treatment on my hair, and my hair has never looked and felt so soft!

These pictures are completely unretouched, no filters (my 7 year old took the pics, future photographer? haha.) My hair is so shiny, these pictures didn't even do it justice. All I needed was a wind machine (and maybe a few (ahem) work out sessions) and I could be bff's with Beyonce.

All kidding aside, my hair felt (and still feels!) amazing, I already have my next session booked!

Thank you so much for your amazing work Amie, I can't wait to come in again.
