Rice Cooker Puerto Rican Rice


 I LOVE Puerto Rican rice, but since I'm horrible at making any rice stove top, I tweaked it to work in my rice cooker.

Rice Cooker Puerto Rican Rice

3 cups of rice
3 1/2 cups of water
2 minced garlic cloves
3 tablespoons Sofrito
1/2 cup of cubed up cooked ham
2 tablespoons tomato consomme
3 tablespoons canned Pigeon Peas
3 slivers of chopped up green bell peppers


Add all of the ingedients to the rice cooker, press cook. After its completed cooking, let it rest (uncovered) for 15 minutes. 

It takes a bit of playing with the cooker to see if it turns out. It took me about 2 tries before it worked well in my cooker, as each one is different. If it ends up too dry, add a bit more water and press cook.
