Contouring is something I've recently started doing. If you don't know what it is, it's basically adding darker and lighter powders (or creams) to your face, creating shadows and textures to make your face appear slimmer, more chiseled, higher cheekbones, etc. If you google You Tube for contouring videos, or do a quick search on pinterest, you'll find a plethora of how tos! I love the results, but finding inexpensive contouring powders has been somewhat difficult. Bronzers, especially, have been hard to find. Try finding bronzers that don't have mounds of glitter built in :( If you're trying to contour, the best bronzers (used to create the shadows) are ones that don't contain shimmer, glitter, and have a matte finish. I've personally contoured with both liquid foundations (I used Neutrogena Healthy Skin.), & powders, and love them both equally.
While looking through Target, I glanced around their ELF shelves, and found this simple little compact.
I love that it contained both the bronzer, and the blush!
Here are the swatches for both the bronzer and the blush. The bronzer was matte, and brown (not orange!! which is def. something you don't want.), and the blush was like a deep peach. It had a bit of shimmer, but that's okay. The blush is applied on the apples of your cheeks, and you want shimmer in that "area" to create a higher cheekbone affect.
Have you guys tried the ELF line?
Oh I need to find this here. I have been looking at all the contouring stuff and have been so scared to try it. I need this in my life!
ReplyDeleteIts so easy once you get the hang of it! I hope you can find it locally<3 I think they sell it on their website if I'm not mistaken. Take care.
DeleteI'm about to run out of my bronzer and don't want to pay a lot of money right now. Your review came at the nick of time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you like it. I had a hard time finding a drugstore bronzer that I liked. And for the price, I thought it was worth it :-)
