UBER Now available in Louisville!

I was approached by Uber, and I'll be honest, I really didn't know what it was. That's probably in part because I've never really used public transportation outside of Chicago... I've always considered it a hassle. Getting a Taxi, finding out where I am, etc, etc. I just avoid it. I did a little research, and I was blown away at how user friendly this service is! I don't know about you guys, but traveling around Derby time can be somewhat of a hassle. I get nervous driving around, figuring out what roads I'm on, finding parking, and getting frustrated & nervous because of cars waiting behind me lol. It's just a mess. I always end up parking further away from the venue, walking long stretches in the heat, and my hair and make up look a wreck by the time I even *get* there.

If you aren't familiar with what Uber is, Uber is a mobile app that connects you to your own private driver at the click of a button. Open the app, request a car and it will be curbside within minutes. All rides are billed directly to your credit card – there’s no need to carry cash (huge convenience and safety feature imo). Uber offers multiple vehicle options to choose from, with the most economical ride being 20% cheaper than a Taxi. If you guys sign up with the code LandofLaLa, you'll get $20 off your first ride! Uber will have uberX available to start with UberBLACK coming soon too.

One of the best features that caught my attention, is that their app uses GPS to locate where you are (no running around trying to find out what the restaurant's address is!). You can use your app to see where the driver is, and they text you letting you know they have arrived. Even your driver's name and car details appear in the app, along with being able to message your driver too. I have never heard of anything like this!

I'm excited Uber is giving me the opportunity to try it for myself to review for you guys. I'll be trying it out for myself this weekend, but I might even try it out tonight to the Chow Wagon. I think this would make it really easy and stress free getting to and from the track on time at Derby. Whether you use Uberx to the infield, or Uber black to Millionares Row,  I bet it'll make navigating the city safe & easy.

I have the link on my sidebar if you guys want to find it later to get a discount off of their services. Check out their website at www.Uber.com for more info.

Have you guys heard of Uber before? Do you think you'd try them for Derby time?

Uber is giving me credits as a thanks for reviewing their services, but as usual, I promise to give my honest opinion.

  1. My family in Philly loves Uber, it's the only company they've used lately. Uber is perfect for Derby, especially after all of the parties, or just trying to get there in the first place. Driving/Parking is too stressful for me.. :(
